Report: Army admonished Manning for YouTube uploads referencing classified facilities

That is the question that I want answered.
The training environment is strange and minor issues are intentionally blown out of proportion for training purposes.
This "hero" has earned his ten by ten and bed for a long time. I hope they knock the administrators that gave him security clearance down to washing latrines too. Stupidity all around.
I'm amazed that this Private was allowed so much access. What ever happened to proper Clearance investigations, access limitations, and "Need to know"? Whatever anyone feels about what this guy did, he should never have had the *capability* to do it in the first place.
If that's what you want, then don't worry; I'm sure Manning will face far worse consequences than anyone whose actions he revealed.

According to the WaPo, there are over 850,000 government and non-government people with top secret clearance.
That's fine, but if you read the actual DoD orders and directives on this stuff, there are safeguards in place specifically designed to section off data and prevent even the possibility of a leak this large.
It's clear that not just one person caused this leak. Yeah, perhaps just one person purposely released the materials, but there were other people in the chain that allowed this to happen. People that weren't taking their duties seriously.
